Charlotte Edwards has taken the Catholic
Students' International Games by storm.
The 16-year-old swimmer, from
Barnoldswick, came away from the event in Hungary with three gold medals –
setting three new Catholic Schools' world records in the process – as well as a
silver and bronze.
Competing for Great Britain against teams from
Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, Spain, France, Malta,
Hungary and the USA, former Fisher-More High School pupil Charlotte, who now
attends Nelson and Colne College, was in inspired form.
Charlotte, who
swims for Blackburn Centurions ASC, took individual gold in the 400m freestyle,
in a new Catholic Schools' world best. And she helped Great Britain win the
4x100m and 4x50m freestyle relays, again both in world bests for Catholic
Students.
The talented youngster added silver in the 200m individual
medley, and bronze in the 200m individual freestyle to cap an incredible
week. And the Great Britain Girls' swimming squad emerged as overall winners
at the games.
Fisher-More partially funded Charlotte's trip to Hungary,
along with father Michael.
